We’re on the Road…
We are embarking on a 4 month adventure in a 27′ RV with our 2 dogs, Moose and JoJo. We are traveling from Colorado to the Southeast and Mid-North.
It is our first time driving and living in an RV, but we wanted to experience this life of ‘freedom’, while we promote our new business, Farm Safe USA. And we get to bring our furry family with us.
Back in June, 2018, we purchased a 1992 Jamboree Searcher 27′ RV and began the renovations. Being an older model, the interior was quite dated, although mechanically it was in good shape overall and all things seemed to be in good working order. We wanted to create a bright, open, airy and colorful place to call our home away from home.
We removed 2 large captain chairs to create more floor space; took out the old blue carpet and replaced with vinyl wood flooring; removed all the window valances and put up blinds; painted the entire interior white and light grey and the kitchen a bright aqua blue; put in a queen size bed; refinished the counters and tabletops using the Giani granite-like paint to resemble granite (which was much better than the pinkish formica it was originally); and recovered the dinette benches. Now we have a beautiful, livable place to call home.
To ensure we were good for the road, we had the engine, brakes and cooling system checked and repaired as necessary.
Finally, we packed up the RV with the kitchen essentials, our personal items and we were ready for the road. Before delving into the renovations, we had done a lot of research on Pinterest, Google, and other RV blogs to see and read what others have done before us. It’s been quite a project, but we are very happy with the finished product.
Check out some of the before and after pictures and definitely let us know what you think in the comments.
